Gaschem Internship Program
Gaschem provides critical gas, inorganic, and organometallic precursors for advanced thin film materials used in cutting-edge applications such as semiconductors, LEDs, solar cells, and corrosion-resistant coatings. Our full-service offering, from molecular design to tons production, is built on a core expertise in molecular selection and synthesis.
We’re seeking talented chemistry and chemical engineering students for our 2024 internship program. As a Gaschem intern, you will:
- Contribute to real-world projects focused on developing new materials for emerging technologies.
- Gain hands-on experience in synthesis, purification, and analysis using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Work closely with a team of experienced chemists and engineers who will provide mentorship and guidance.
- Develop key skills in process optimization, scale-up, and analytical techniques.
Available Positions:
Research Associate, Analytical Chemistry
Developing and validating analytical methods specifically for air- and moisture-sensitive organometallic compounds. Performing routine analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and final products. Troubleshooting analytical issues and investigating out-of-specification results. Maintaining and calibrating analytical instrumentation. Contributing to the development and implementation of quality control procedures and quality systems.
Research Associate, Formulation Development
Investigating the compatibility of organometallic precursors with different solvents, additives, and matrices. Developing formulations that meet specific customer requirements for stability, delivery, and performance. Conducting stability studies to determine the shelf life and storage conditions of formulated products. Characterizing the physical and chemical properties of formulated products. Collaborating with synthesis and analytical teams to ensure seamless integration of formulation development with other research activities.
Synthetic Organometallic Chemist
Designing and executing multi-step syntheses of complex organometallic molecules.Optimizing reaction conditions to improve yield, purity, and scalability of synthetic processes. Characterizing synthesized compounds using a variety of spectroscopic and analytical techniques (NMR, IR, MS, elemental analysis). Working with air-sensitive compounds using Schlenk techniques and gloveboxes. Collaborating with process engineers to transfer successful bench-scale synthesis to pilot-scale production.
